Children who were displaced from Vipulanantha, Kathiroli and Shakthi Homes on 09.03.2007 have now returned. What they have returned to are places (homes), even bereft of the basics required for day-to-day living.
As such, the homes are in a situation to purchase new, or obtain through some other means, the basic materials these children would need for their every day use if a semblance of normality is to be restored in their lives.
uthawi.netWhat is more, they have restarted their journey of lives in an environment of war where military clashes and explosions are a daily occurrence.
The Children were allowed for their stay in the homes only after the army had photographed and registered them.
Not only this, the children who were in Kathiroli and Shakthi homes who had children with parents but too poor to be supported by them, were also forced to return to their families because of military stress.
uthawi.netAfter removing these children in 04.06.2007 due to armed clashes, to bring them back to a violent and conflict-ridden environment is illogical without purpose. But, though we requested philanthropists to find these children places where they do not have to live amidst war, there has not been much assistance forthcoming. It was under these circumstance that were forced to take these children back to the homes they had vacated earlier in a violence-prove environment.
Further than the above we are still eagerly looking forward for your support. It would be a great favour by you for the children.
Thanking You,
- Jasikaran (uthawi.net/Sri Lanka)
