 uthawi website had organized a trip on April 23, 2004 with the concern that the children in these homes should not be like frogs in a wall, knowing nothing otherthan their homes’.
In that morning, we woke up early and got ready and waited for the bus. Bus came at about 7:20 am. All of us ran to the bus with a joy. The supervisor of our home and the old woman who cooks for us also came with us.
On the way, at Siththandi, the bus stopped at Yoga Suvamikal Childrens’ Home and the women from there got in the bus. We all sang songs happily.
Again, on the way, the bus stopped at Pazhukamam Vipulanantha Home, and people from there got into the bus. In the bus following us, the people from Kathiroli Home and Sakthi Home were coming.
We have seen the elephants, deers and peacocks on the way.
About 12:30 Noon We got to the Ukanthai Mountain. We finished our lunch there and take a tour in the temple, which is located in the Mountain.
At about 14:30 we went towards Ullai. We saw an elephant eating its food and a peacock dancing spreading its beautiful wings – on the way. We reached the Ullai Sea. Happily, we showered in the sea.
At about16:30, We left from there and reached our home at 20:00 night.
Trips like these, are not only for us to see the places we are unknown. The mountain and the beautiful natural sights we saw from there were attracted us and the beautiful blue sea comforted our hearts.
We would like to go to a similar trip like this once again. In the coming times, we ask you to help us to see far away places like Colombo, Kandy and Nuvareliya.
